Year 10 Geography and ICT

This year in Geography you have to complete 2 ICT tasks. These tasks are part of your ICT education at Slemish College and you need to make sure that you do your very best to produce a final piece that you can be proud of. Your teacher will talk you through the details of the task and will telll you what the final deadline for the piece of work is.

Task 1: Making Movies

The topic chosen is Global Warming. the focus of the task is to produce a movie for a TV advert that challenges people about the impact of Global Warming on a local scale.

Lesson 4: How to edit video using MovieMaker

1. Demonstration in class of how this works. Students are shown the main features of how we can use moviemaker to make a movie

Lesson 5: The Task: produce a TV advert that will challenge people about the impact of Global Warming on a local scale

Rules

You must have at least 50% of your own video footage taken either at home or in school
You can use video downloaded from the Internet to support your story
You must use copyright free music in the background of your video
Students will be shown how to get copyright free music; how to get clips from pathe and how to join an online video service and how to share you video with the world
Your video must be between 1 – 3 minutes long
You must finish you video and upload the video to an online site (more details will appear in Lesson 6)
You need to email your teacher with the link to your video (more details will apear in Lesson 6)

I will put more information about how you can download free music from a website in the school later in the year.
